The J.Thomas McCarthy Center for Emergency Services at California Hospital is the only full service, 24 hour emergency department in Downtown Los Angeles.
Each year, sixteen thousand patients receive care in Los Angeles County trauma centers. California hospital's trauma program is designed to take advantage of the golden hour -- the 60 critical minutes when life hangs in the balance. This can mean the difference between life and death -- or a full recovery.
